Cape Barren Rare Bird McLaren Vale Shiraz 2020

With its long, warm summers and stunning coastal scenery, McLaren Vale is a haven for boutique wineries specialising in full-bodied red wines made from Grenache and Shiraz.
Cape Barren Rare Bird McLaren Vale Shiraz was made by Rob Dundon, a winemaker with more than two thousand Gold medals and two hundred Trophies to his name. The wine takes its name from the Cape Barren Goose – one of the world’s rarest birds – and it’s every bit as distinctive as its namesake.
Aged for two years in French and American oak, this prestige cuvée marries power with real elegance. It’s rich in texture and bursting with dark berry flavours, lingering long on the palate with fine, silky tannins. Enjoy it with roast lamb, chargrilled veg or a generous wedge of aged cheddar.
