The Story Behind the Bottle
Laurent-Perrier is known for the freshness, elegance and purity of its Champagnes, combining traditional methods with new approaches and patience to create excellent wines, cuvée after cuvée. Grand Siècle Iteration No. 27 is the is the result of that philosophy.
Grand Siècle was born from Bernard de Nonancourt’s vision to create an expression of “the perfect year” – one that nature couldn’t create on its own. With vintage Champagnes varying in style and character from year to year, Bernard made the decision to look beyond a single vintage to create the prestige cuvée he was dreaming about.
To create this perfect expression, Laurent-Perrier selects three vintages with exceptional characters to guide the blend, before aging the wine on the lees for at least 10 years. This additional maturation allows Grand Siècle to develop greater aromatic depth, intensity and complexity while retaining its freshness and vibrancy.
Iteration No. 27 offers complex aromas of honeysuckle, candied lemon and fresh almonds, followed by hints of pastry and honey. The palate brings flavours of dried apricots, ripe orchard fruits, candied citrus peel and hazelnuts, with a refined minerality underneath. Delicious on its own, it pairs well with fish and shellfish.
