Hidalgo La Gitana Alameda Oloroso Cream Sherry 50cl NV

Founded in 1792 by the Hidalgo family, this sherry bodega is one of the oldest. Run today by the 8th generation, it is world renowned for the superb quality of its sherries. It’s best-known for its La Gitana range, named after the gypsy barmaid on the label, who captivated Eduardo Hidalgo and his customers, a century back.
Hidalgo La Gitana Alameda is a rich and sweet blend of mature, dry Oloroso and a splash of sweet, aged Pedro Ximénez sherries. The Oloroso is made using Palamino Fino grapes from Hidalgo’s vineyards in the Balbaina and Miraflores regions, considered some of the best in Jerez. The Pedro Ximénez grapes were harvested later in the season, so that they were very ripe, and then gently dried in the sun to create incredibly concentrated flavours and sweetness.
Full, rich and silky smooth, it’s brimming with sweet raisin fruit, creamy walnuts and warm spice flavours. A delicious pairing with creamy desserts like crème caramel, it’s also lovely with nuts and soft cheeses.
