Il Poeta Barolo 2022

A rich, elegant Italian red wine, Il Poeta Barolo is the creation of our Italian grape-growing friend Natale Seghesio and winemaker Paolo Sartitano.
Everything Natale does in his vineyard in Piedmont is meticulous and by hand. The practice of careful selection during harvest is almost a meditative task for Natale, allowing his mind a moment of focus and reflection. It’s often during this period that he will mindfully be composing a poem to immortalise the vintage. An act he does to celebrate every new release. You’ll see this wine’s poem printed on the front label.
Talented winemaker Paolo Sartirano snaps up Natale's grapes every year, taking them to his family's cellar. Founded in 1871, this cellar is now 150 years old and in the hands of the fourth generation. Paolo has crafted Il Poeta to be a truly poetic expression of the finest Nebbiolo.
Three years ageing in large barrels ensures the fruit marries perfectly with the subtle oak. Deeply flavoured and complex, the wine is best opened a few hours early and decanted. Or age. Serve with hearty dishes.
