Flavour Profile
You probably already know the Cabernet Sauvignons of Napa Valley are some of the finest and most highly prized reds money can buy. But within Napa, you’ll find Oakville: “undeniably one of Napa’s top sub-appellations year after year”, as the experts at Decanter Magazine put it.
You won’t find Oakville reds selling for much less than £60 here in the UK. Then there’s Oakville icon Screaming Eagle, which goes for over £2,000 a bottle.
So when our buyer revealed the famous name behind this Limited Release Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon ... and the price on offer ... it was an instant yes. The only proviso: we cannot name the estate.
The US wine market has gone through years of falling demand and tariff troubles, which have left even the grandest estates with surplus stock. If we gave you the name, you could find this red online for £90.
With crushed blackberries, violets and cocoa, smoky oak and a lengthy, silky finish, serve with a fine cut of steak, rack of lamb or mushroom-based dishes. Very limited stock – order early.
