Flavour Profile
Nowhere beats Spain for mellow, barrel-aged reds that offer remarkable quality and value. Like Palacio del Conde Gran Selección – a gorgeously complex, oaky red from Valencia, presented in an impressive magnum bottle.
Bodegas La Viña is located in the charming village of La Font de la Figuera, nestled in the foothills of the Sierra de Navalón and Sierra Grossa mountain ranges and just 20km from the coast. The vineyards enjoy warm, dry weather tempered by cooling breezes from the Mediterranean – ideal conditions for growing Tempranillo. It’s here that winemaker Jorge Caus selects the finest, hand-harvested grapes from 50-year-old vines for this Gran Selección.
Aged for three years in oak barrels it is a wonderfully fragrant, silky red wine with mature redcurrant, damson and fruitcake flavours and a touch of spice. Sublime with roast lamb, braised garlic chicken, tapas and mature cheeses.
