Sangarida La Yegua 2022

If you’re looking for a fresh, elegant white wine with oodles of juicy fruit and citrus flavours, Sangarida La Yegua is just the ticket. Made by brothers Robustiano and Baldomero Fariña, Sangarida is a daring project that champions the rare, native grapes of Spain’s Bierzo region.
Following the family tradition and history of Attis Bodegas y Viñedos, the Fariña brothers have expanded their philosophy of championing Spain’s rare, native grapes. Together with their longtime friend Jean-François Hébrard, they embarked on a new project, named Sangarida, in Bierzo.
La Yegua is a bright, refreshing blend of Bierzo’s two main white grapes Godello and Doña Blanca, specially selected from vineyards in the foothills of the Aquilianos Mountains. The result is intensely fresh, fruity flavours of white peach, juicy pear and lemon, with undercurrents of complex oak spice thanks to 12 months’ ageing in barrels. Enjoy it chilled with summer salads or seared scallops.
