Windsor Great Park Vineyard is a superb 3-hectare plot planted on Mezel Hill at the heart of the Royal Park. Its discovery is a long (and charming) story that resulted in its planting in 2010, with the permission of the Duke of Edinburgh, the official Ranger for the Park.  

Ideal soils (tested in Champagne) and good exposure to the sun, with slopes leading down to Great Meadow Pond … it enjoys near-perfect conditions, bar perhaps the grape-thirsty parakeets that perch in nearby oak trees.  

We had the best in the business advising us on its planting and have a Trophy-winning winemaker in the cellar. The outcome has been just small quantities of an award-winning fizz that has received critical acclaim from the press worldwide and that we have the honour of offering our customers.

Windsor Great Park Vineyard English Quality Sparkling Wine

Since its first release – the 2013 vintage in 2016 – Windsor Great Park Vineyard fizz has won many awards, including 95 points from the ‘50 Great Sparkling Wines of the World’, 94 points from both Decanter and the International Wine Challenge competitions, a Mundus Vini Gold medal and many more.

The vineyard is tended with great care by Henry Laithwaite, who is also the Trophy-winning winemaker described by Jancis Robinson MW as having “magician powers … with Bollinger ambitions”. You’ll taste that in the wine.

At harvest time, all the Windsor grapes are taken to his prize-winning winery in Marlow, close by. A blend of mostly Chardonnay supported by Pinot Noir and Meunier, made by the traditional method with the secondary fermentation in bottle and up to 5 years’ ageing on its lees, this quality sparkling wine gets better every vintage.

The wine is a rich gold with aromas of warm toast, ripe apricot and lemon carried on a wave of creamy bubbles. It brims with ripe apple, citrus and bright minerality with a signature toasty, warm-brioche finish. And flavours that linger beautifully – the mark of a truly great fizz, and a wonderful story to share as you pour.
